bells

tee & belt, american apparel; jeans, vintage; bag, bella borz;

A typical outfit for this summer, little fuss clothing for lazy girls like me. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a bag girl. I can count my purses on one hand and many of them I've been using since I started college. To me, a good bag needs to be well made so it will last forever, and not too flashy so that I'll still want to wear it after forever. That's why when I was recently introduced to Bella Borz I was really intrigued. The fact that you can detach the front pouch and use it as a clutch makes it lazy girl proof, so I'm totally into it.

Green Platform

tank & jean, american apparel; shoes, stylenanda;

Snapshots taken at central park, right before I took the best nap of my life. I'm extremely sad though because I ended up leaving these shoes behind at the hotel while frantically packing. I liked them so much though that I'm going to order another pair.

hairbrush

crop top & jeans, american apparel; seahorse loafers, bypaige, hairbrush, mason pearson;

Although sky high heels, and fancy dresses fill up my closet, I always find myself coming back to that classic outfit of jeans and t-shirt and this outfit is really one that I have been living in for months. So much so that my jeans are actually a way different color due to how many times I've washed and worn them. I took these photos of myself brushing my hair a little while ago and they were used for some American Apparel ads, most recently in the back of the July 2011 Teen Vogue. Kinda exciting I won't lie!

america!

crop halter top, uo; pink pleated pant, american apparel; gold shoe, made by elves; bag, piero guidi;

We had a great warm 4th of july, just how I like it! I spent the day doing what 99% of people do on the fourth bbq'ing and watched an amazing fireworks show at night. Hope you guys enjoyed yourselves as well!

Pup

On Me: ginger jacket & chiffon cam, american apparel; red pants, vintage; wedges, yesstyle.com;

On Rosé: fur coat, her own;

My co-worker's puppy Rosé and I had the same color story going on in our outfits today! No way I am able to focus on any serious work when she's around, her sexiness is too much to handle, I just turn to marshmallow-lovey-dovey-mush.

the closet

A few photos of my closet, and some of my favorite shoes & things

wind

creme crop top, aa; 60's beaded satin elephant pants, vintage;

These pants are are ridiculous, I know, but I can't help but be extremely attracted to them. My favorite part is the super wide leg. They're really dramatic, especially when I only wear them to go trader joes!

Just a quick hey to all my interweb friends, I've been totally engrossed in projects and life in general. Hope everyone is doing well!

kitchen floor

silk blouse & sequin pants, vintage; debutante pink lipstick, besame cosmetics;

I've been wanting to wear these fantastic pants out somewhere, but I have not come upon the appropriate occasion just yet. So I just wear them around the house when I want to feel sparkly.

Prelude

bodysuit & jacket, american apparel; wide leg pants, yesstyle; platforms, marni; earrings, turkey

I always find myself wearing a specific color palette for weeks at a time. The past couple weeks I've been wearing a lot of earthy tones/navy/forest greens. A prelude to fall of sorts. I love these super comfortable karate style pants i found on yesstyle for super cheap, it's a little scary because I could really get used to it. Next thing I know I might be wearing sweats out and about. One of my best friends took a holiday in Turkey this summer and she brought me back these cute/scary dead bird earrings. Thanks Lena! It's been a few years since I've worn dangly earrings it feels kinda weird, but these are so much fun to wear.

heatwaves

lawn tank & linen pants, aa;

it's been a hectic past week for me filled with really long work days. I had the pleasure to shoot with Denni of thechicmuse, who is the sweetest girl around and i'm a little bummed she was here for only a short time. I also spent saturday out in the desert, one of my favorite places, doing absolutely nothing but soaking up the heatwaves.

spots

Tent blouse, vintage albert nipon; taupe riding pant, american apparel; new orbit bubblemint gum;

I adore vintage Albert Nipon pieces, the designs and patterns are so damn amazing! This one in particular is my favorite piece I own, I always feel like a clown in it because the sleeves are so large but oh well!

Speaking of, I dragged my bf to see SATC2 last night, I really wish I didn't see it. I feel like the movie was a little bit over styled, and as he put it best "they looked like clowns". I also did not appreciate the circus like way they portrayed the middle east. What a shame!

blue boats

sleevless button up, american apparel; linen trouser, vintage; red sandal, zahir; new peppermint orbit gum;

Over the years, every time I go thrifting I end up picking up a pair of linen pants, trying them on, then thinking 'no, not gonna happen linen gets loose and gross'. This past week I changed my mind and bought a few pairs at my favorite thrift store out in sunland. Paired them with my new bold red heels, gotta say though the sole/heel ratio is a little funny and I feel like I'm wearing little boats on my feet. Also, excuse the scraggly hair here, high winds from all directions don't make nice hair photos!

Grey Daze

salt & pepper cropped sweater & creme pant, american apparel; flats, yesstyle.com; new orbit gum;

Heather grey is definitely my favorite thing to wear at the moment. It's so strange how you can go from abhorring a color to all of a sudden adorinng it. I also practically live in these pants, comfort is key for me these days! I've spent all last week working & shooting with the overwhelmingly lovely Zanita. It was a pleasure to get to know her and show her around LA!

Anyone who studies design understands the impact that packaging has on our perception of a product. I know nothing excites me more than receiving a new pair of shoes, in a nice huge box neatly overstuffed with loads of tissue paper. I also often buy make-up products ( naively!!) based on how cute the packaging is. Sounds pretty superficial, but our first impression is what the package looks like and it makes a difference! Orbit recently redesigned all of their gum with 30 fresh new designs, and asked me to pick my favorite designs and coordinate them with some outfits. At first I thought ' that's silly, I don't wear gum I eat it! ' but when I actually thought about it I found it to be an interesting challenge. So, in the next few posts I will be debuting my favorite packaging. Stay tuned!
