coat, h&m; twist scarf as belt, American Apparel; glitter heels, Miu Miu; clear lucite clutch, vintage;

If you read my blog (those rare times that i post?!) you probably know that I love two things: glitter and clear stuff. These were the only shoes that I have been dying over in a long long time, so I'm so excited to add them to my arsenal of glitter twinkle toe shoes. Also, I have to say, it's pretty freeing to wear your coat as a dress.

I hope it starts getting cold and rainy in LA, I didn't really have a summer because I've been so busy with work so I want to move along and start my fall and winter already.

This dress has been my uniform for a little while, i find it so flattering and so easy to just throw on and i'm out the door!

A typical outfit for this summer, little fuss clothing for lazy girls like me. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a bag girl. I can count my purses on one hand and many of them I've been using since I started college. To me, a good bag needs to be well made so it will last forever, and not too flashy so that I'll still want to wear it after forever. That's why when I was recently introduced to Bella Borz I was really intrigued. The fact that you can detach the front pouch and use it as a clutch makes it lazy girl proof, so I'm totally into it.

Some photos taken this weekend, the rain is a nice change for us here in cali. I love this sweater, it is fuzzy perfection. Kind of reminds me of my bunny Newton.

Also, I have a sick obsession with all things clear. I found this hermes bag on ebay, must have been a give away bag at some fashion show back in the 90's. It's got writing on the front of it but I plan to remove it. I felt kind of silly once I realized that I was wearing a clear bag, clear shoes, and holding a clear umbrella. Not that it will stop me from doing the same again and again. Next, I am determined to find the perfect clear blazer/coat/cape thing.

this is fayez.

On Newton: red bow, diy; fur coat, his own;

I know no matter what I type here no one is going to read it because you're all spellbound by Newton's undeniably fuzzy sexiness. He was a gift for my birthday from my two dearest friends tina & tam, and in fact the most adorable gift I've ever received! We took these photos on Sunday afternoon while I was trying to clean my room and he was distracting me in the cutest of ways. One of his favorite things to do is watch classy sounding TV (the real housewives stress him out!) while sitting on my head or legs. He's a stylish boy, and I'm sure he'll make more cameos soon!
Hope everyone has a great week!

another year

Wore this last night to my birthday dinner with friends. I was extremely overdressed for the venue but I figured it's my birthday and I'll get dressed up if I want! I'm in love with this skirt I recently bought at my favorite vintage shops in LA and it is probably one of the heaviest garments I've ever owned. There is just so much fabric in it, it's amazing. I also gave my hair a bit of a chop, it feels so nice not to have a new length after years of long long hair, change is good for the soul.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

peter pan shirt, uo; vintage suspender trousers, moschino; heels, marc jacobs;

These suspender pants are one of my most treasured vintage finds, I always feel so elegant and tall in them. My dream pants! Also, I had been tracking these heels down for MONTHS, and they are finally mine and have become the jewel of my shoe closet. Thanks to everyone who emailed me link suggestions from the last post, there's nothing more enjoyable then mindless web surfing. I've definitely added a lot of new bookmarks!

I've been pruning my closet for a little bit, every week taking out things I havent worn/don't ever want to wear again. It's soothing. Kinda nice to know that my confidence and security does not depend on size of my closet or other material objects. I ended up giving away 90% of my jackets and cardigans. So now when I'm cold my big shirts are worn as super lightweight jackets. Also let it be known to the world, these are the coolest pants ever.

tall tale

I've been feeling a little bit uninspired lately, so Nour and I took a little trip to the library for a little creative stimulation. Usually I bury myself in some weird/boring law related books, but today we decided to hang out in the children's section looking at mind blowingly amazing illustrations in old old children's books. 1001 Arabian nights is still my favorite tall tale of all time. I guess my cultural biases prevail, what can I do. Definitely a nice and relaxing way to spend a rainy saturday. What did you do?

i wouldn't do that

knit sweater, urban outfitters; cut out dress , aa; shoes, moschino cheap & chic;

This outfit has been sort of my default for anything that requires dressing up, I wore it a few times in both of my trips to vegas and ny in the last few weeks. I especially adore the chanel feeling of the sweater. The past couple of days have been beautiful around these parts. Everything is green and lush from the recent rains, so excited to go on a nice long hike tomorrow!
