vintage tissue paper dress, brigid catiis; clear ballerinas, yesstyle

Someone is grossly obsessed with clear shoes *ahem*. Clear accessories in general actually. What can I do, as my coworker Martine says, "I like what I like". I've spent the past few days buried in my room watching an endless marathon of Skins episodes. Hannah Murray as Cassie is the cutest thing ever, how the heck have I not seen her/this show before?!

Grey Daze

salt & pepper cropped sweater & creme pant, american apparel; flats, yesstyle.com; new orbit gum;

Heather grey is definitely my favorite thing to wear at the moment. It's so strange how you can go from abhorring a color to all of a sudden adorinng it. I also practically live in these pants, comfort is key for me these days! I've spent all last week working & shooting with the overwhelmingly lovely Zanita. It was a pleasure to get to know her and show her around LA!

Anyone who studies design understands the impact that packaging has on our perception of a product. I know nothing excites me more than receiving a new pair of shoes, in a nice huge box neatly overstuffed with loads of tissue paper. I also often buy make-up products ( naively!!) based on how cute the packaging is. Sounds pretty superficial, but our first impression is what the package looks like and it makes a difference! Orbit recently redesigned all of their gum with 30 fresh new designs, and asked me to pick my favorite designs and coordinate them with some outfits. At first I thought ' that's silly, I don't wear gum I eat it! ' but when I actually thought about it I found it to be an interesting challenge. So, in the next few posts I will be debuting my favorite packaging. Stay tuned!

I always leave the house with wet hair, too impatient to do any kind of styling to it.

tall tale

I've been feeling a little bit uninspired lately, so Nour and I took a little trip to the library for a little creative stimulation. Usually I bury myself in some weird/boring law related books, but today we decided to hang out in the children's section looking at mind blowingly amazing illustrations in old old children's books. 1001 Arabian nights is still my favorite tall tale of all time. I guess my cultural biases prevail, what can I do. Definitely a nice and relaxing way to spend a rainy saturday. What did you do?

It's been raining cats and dogs. Got to snap these photos this past weekend at my new favorite place before it started raining cats and dogs in LA. I've become a total creature of comfort, and flats have become my best friends. This green suede pair gives me crazy toe cleavage, and I'm so into it. Sick I know, oh well!

Ladies that lunch

Clean & proper dressing has been the trend in my life lately. My
sister Nour kept asking me as we shot these photos " Why have you
been dressing like a golfer... geeez!" I've been searching for a
nice good pair of high waisted pleated trousers, and this McQ pair
that I got at Revolve are the absolute perfect fit. I love that they are a classic shape but still have a little sparkle when you go in the sun.

Although I'm pretty much sick of anything studded, I can't help but love this funny little pair of shoes that cotton pancakes sent me. At first they seemed too bulky and weird, but they're growing on me. Super comfortable too!

Considering cutting my hair short but I'm just hesitating. Seperation anxiety!

Conductor

Silk Tuxedo Shirt, Wren ( via Revolve); Mini skirt & Bordeaux Tights, American Apparel; Transparent Cap-Toe Flats, yesstyle;
I've been wearing variations of this outfit for a couple weeks now, and it's really become a uniform. I know its a no-no to wear the same thing over and over, but I can't help myself. I got this tuxedo shirt from Revolve a little bit ago and I love the funny orchestra conductor feel & dreamily silky softness of it!

Speed Queen

As a matter of pure practicality, I've been favoring my flat shoes more than the sky high platforms lately. Don't get me wrong, I still love a good 5 inch skanky heel! But for everyday life, I've been going for things that are more casual & comfortable. This sweater in particular was given to me as a present on my birthday and I have become super attached to its incredible coziness.
What's everyone's plans for New Years? I've got a pair of black & silver striped sequin shorts and I think NYE is the only day of the year I can wear them out while keeping my dignity intact.

Red Trouser

long sleeve u-neck dress as top, American Apparel; leather belt & trousers, vintage; prep school flats, Cotton Pancakes;

Hopefully all of you had a wonderful holiday! Recently, I have no idea whats gotten over me but all I can think of buying are trousers & various kinds of mom pants. I'm pretty tiny, and it is incredibly difficult to find pants that fit vintage or not. These were a hard find, but somehow they fit at the waist, and I adore the color!

Big thanks to the lovelies at Cotton Pancakes for sending me a generous box full of goodies. This embroidered velvet pair are my current favorite pair of shoes, so easy yet so cute!

Now I know christmas is over, but I simply can't get over this video. So good.
