throw it on

sweater, orange button up, & sparkle socks, american apparel; leather sandals and esprit skirt, vintage;

I always find myself throwing this sweater over all my outfits. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Oh well! I spent last weekend gardening and thrift store hoping for great housewares. I went looking for a nice table but instead I came home with a lamp and inca bookends. I'm still searching for that perfect table, I'm sure i'll find it soon!

playsuit, vintage;

Whenever something is upsetting me, I tend to find something to do to keep me busy and keep my mind off my troubles. I've been having a hard week with stress from all over. So I spent all day yesterday baking and drowned my feelings in rich chocolate. Except I got a little carried away and I made too much batter. I decided to use it to make cookies, cupcakes and madelines. Some came out good...some not too pretty. Doesn't matter though because they were all sweet and delicious! Also when I'm upset, I find myself drawn to bright colored clothing to help brighten up my mood, and that is why I love wearing this jumpsuit. Especially the fact that it has these clowny pants, big and billowy, brings me back to life.

Pup

On Me: ginger jacket & chiffon cam, american apparel; red pants, vintage; wedges, yesstyle.com;

On Rosé: fur coat, her own;

My co-worker's puppy Rosé and I had the same color story going on in our outfits today! No way I am able to focus on any serious work when she's around, her sexiness is too much to handle, I just turn to marshmallow-lovey-dovey-mush.

printed silk dress & mouse pin, vintage; red pullover & clutch, american apparel; peach platforms, L'autre Chose;

It's been a while since my last post, I've been busy and lazy. That's life!
I love the print on this dress, everywhere you look theres something new to look at and nothing is cuter then the old man. My closet is full of printed colorful pieces, and this one fits right in with the rest. Also, meet morris my little mouse friend!

yellow daisies

chiffon shirt & dress, american apparel;

There's a precious two or three week period around here where all the and hills mountains turn green, and the flowers bloom. Just two weeks and then it all starts turning yellow and orange and eventually becomes dry brush. I was really excited to find this patch of yellow daisies, I jumped in them for a quick snapshot!

I've been fighting a flu this past week, and you know what i'm really sick of being sick.

jack

jack & the beanstalk dress, vintage;

I really do believe that clothing can transform a person's energy and spirit. This dress is one of those pieces, just cheers me up. It seems to cheer everyone else up too. The other day the cutest little old lady in little tokyo stopped me and gave me a hug and said she liked my dress. I've had a bad couple weeks, so her reaction to my dress was very sweet & heartwarming!

red red red

vintage sweater, vivienne westwood red label; scallop hemmed shorts, yesstyle;

I love these chloe inspired shorts, they're surprisingly super taylored and fit amazing! Wore this last weekend, right before the rain. Finally it's feeling like fall here and I get to wear all my favorite coats and tights! I'm on the hunt for a really really good mascara, any suggestions? I currently use Benefit's Bad Gal waterproof but it's the worst and always smears all over my face after 2 hours. Waterproof...lies!

Okay, I'm off to eat Pocky for breakfast and go to work!

Suspender

peter pan shirt, uo; vintage suspender trousers, moschino; heels, marc jacobs;

These suspender pants are one of my most treasured vintage finds, I always feel so elegant and tall in them. My dream pants! Also, I had been tracking these heels down for MONTHS, and they are finally mine and have become the jewel of my shoe closet. Thanks to everyone who emailed me link suggestions from the last post, there's nothing more enjoyable then mindless web surfing. I've definitely added a lot of new bookmarks!

tennis brackets polo, vintage; red denim shorts, aa;

Given my many years working in the golf industry, I've developed a special appreciation for all things country club related. I found this polo at one of my favorite little vintage shops in LA. Sometimes all I want to do is dress like an old lady golfer/tourist, this outfit being a prime example. Paired it with these super cheeky new shorts from AA which have become a staple in my closet. Wore this when I spent a couple short days in NY earlier this month and had an amazingly nice time. The city is absolutely gorgeous this time of year, I don't mind the monsoon rain & heat at all. I got to style a look for Charlotte Russe along with a few blogger friends of mine, take gander at our looks & vote for your favorite here.

Make Believe

"It's all make believe, isn't it?"- Marilyn Monroe

Had some dinner with my sister at a local diner, the walls of this place were filled with old hollywood portraits. As cheesy as the decor was, I really like it!
