my style is forever evolving, but in a way this outfit felt like a throwback to what i was wearing back when this blog first began. i guess big gold jewelry, paired with possibly-too-many prints (never!) is always going to be my safe place.

it started with this padlock-spots-plus-snakeskin-print sachin + babi blouse, which encouraged me to keep piling on the patterns. polka dots and leopard have always seemed like neutrals to me, and it just made sense to finish it all off with richly colored leather accessories, to highlight the blouse's singular, emerald leather stripe.

in one of those only-noticeable-in-real-life surprises, the cuffs and collar on this top are WIRED. i didn't realize this until my outnet order arrived, and it was such a delight to discover! i spent half the day these photos were taken sculpting, setting, twisting, and re-setting the exact angle of each malleable inch. because of my friendship with the w hotels, i was able to sneak into michael angel's presentation on tuesday and preview the collection before anyone else. what an honor! it was so nice to really be able to linger over the details in the clothes ~ the intricate prints, surprising linings, thoughtful layering, super-precise collars and patchwork construction truly blew me away. and there's a trenchcoat in there that i doubt i can live without:

as my hair gets a teensy bit longer, i've been alternating between tighter, twenties-ish curls (as seen yesterday) and this looser, more natural wave (also worn on monday). it's the same process, but this time around i'm curling bigger sections at a time and using much less hairspray. love having another option! i can't wait till i can break into braids and buns and center parts and such. this is a whole new frontier of girlhood for me!!

wore my namesake dress (double-wrapped and tied in the back this time) in its newest iteration (leopard print!), for a recent night out with my best friends and siblings at the darby ~ our current favorite spot for dinner and dancing in the city. the dress twisted and twirled in the most delightful way, and these tassel-trimmed shoes felt like just the right finish.
